Hello all,
I'm a new member here and this is my first post. I'm a 42-year-old male, and I've been on 400mg daily Dilantin for 21 years. Last week, I had my annual level check and it came back at 25. My doctor wanted to lower my dose to 350, but I pointed out that the 50 mg tablets are not the same as the Kapseals, and suggested a slower lowering of my dose using the 30mg capsules along with the 100mg capsules.
I understand that these different capsules are meant to contain the same drug (although the 100mg has changed and the 30mg hasn't), but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience taking them in combination, and whether they have noticed any difference? My first mixed dose at 360 mg left me feeling off, as did my next mixed dose of 390. My stress over this situation is high, and clouding my overall experience, so it's hard to tell the medicine from the anxiety.
