The cast (and crutches) from the ER are gone:D
Calcaneal Fracture is all over the paperwork from the ER, but the report says xrays are normal. Dr. we just saw looked at them himself and showed us there really is no fracture.
There is still a sore spot we have to watch and Zach does need to take it easy, but it looks like all is ok.
Dr. said to come back in 4 weeks...unless, of course, pain when walking worsens, etc.
Thanks for the ideas re crutches in the other thread!
After seeing Zach trying to use them, though, Dr. agrees...if he ever really does break something, he's getting a wheelchair!LOL

Yeah it was pretty interesting. Dr. was a bit confused by the paperwork too.
Oh well. That's done.
Now I go back to patient #1...Dave and his Mono...he's awake more and has started to eat some solids. Hurts him to talk too much but that's ok I don't mind;)

(((((Lynda)))))),
WOW!! That's a surprise. Usually it goes the other way -- they don't diagnose a fracture until a few days later.
Lucky for Zach. Maybe he's just supposed to slow down a 'little bit' http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/moose53/MINIS/LAUGHTER/girl_haha.gif.
Good thing he's not going to be saddled with medical equipment during the Spring.
Thanks for the http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/moose53/MINIS/ACTIVITIES/060104_ema34_prv.gif!! Hugs.

Did they look at same scans? That is a bit strange.
I was one of those who had a fracture, and it didn't show up on first x ray, but came up on another scan (can't remember what type, i know they had to inject dye).
Just keep on eye on him, if he is not getting better. Go see someone again.

My husband Ross had a fractured wrist a few years ago. The docs in the ER said no it wasn't broken, then the Radiologist came in and said yes there was a fracture.
My mum fractured the bone on the top of the arch of her foot. She was in so much pain and it took a CT scan to show the fracture.
Now the funny bit - Ross fell off the skateboard on Xmas day that we had brought for Trav for Xmas. We were in the ER waiting area and Trav's paed came in, looked once, looked twice, looked around for Trav but we said no "not Trav, just us"
Oh the things that happen
Love yvonne xx
