Has anyone had problems with your perceptions when you are extremely anxious? Many years ago I was diagnosed with Major Depresseion with Psychosis and it seems every time I get extremely anxious (like lately) I have difficulty with my senses. I will see things go by outside the corner of my eye that arent there, or I'll see things Ive seen every day and they will look different (like bigger than I remembered, or changed in some way-I feel confused when this happens) or I'll suddenly forget which side of the road Im supposed to drive on, and sometimes I will hear people talking or calling my name or even see people who are not there. I get to the point where I dont even trust my perceptions.

Has anyone ever experienced this?

Have you ever had an EEG? My daughter, (then 7yr old) had panic attacks like these and would go to sleep afterwards. She also lost her speech over a period of time. It turns out that she was having seizures. She actually has Landau Kleffner Syndrome. It is a spike and wave in her right temporal lobe. I don't think you have that because it is usually in children 4-8 yrs old but maybe you are having some kind of seizure activity. just a thought. She is on lamictal and doing very well right now. She is 9 now. Good Luck- Martha
