YES ! It made me feel horrible! I felt like I was floating around, in a very sick way! I tried it for about 2 1/2 wks for Fibro but it was not for me at all !!

Charlene,
I think Cymbalta is being EXTREMELY mis-advertised. I was in the clinical trials for it (I'm now taking Effexor XR because the Cymbalta was not yet available in the market.) I was kicked out of the clinical trials because the Cymbalta did not work on my depression at all. It worked FANTASTICALLY on my neuropathic and fibromyalgia pain.
They're advertising it now for a combination of depression plus pain. Bull-feathers!! I think they're just trying to find a place in the market where the drug "fits".
Cymbalta and Effexor XR are both VERY ADDICTIVE drugs. If I miss taking my Effexor XR for 7 days -- sometimes in the winter I can't get out because of the bad weather in my wheelchair/scooter -->> bad/bad withdrawal symptoms that take a month to come back from.
If I were you (which I'm not) and my diagnosis was anxiety and not either depression or nerve/muscular pain or depression with nerve/muscular pain, I wouldn't get involved in taking either one of these drugs (Cymbalta or Effexor XR).
I'm not a a doctor. I'm just a consumer, speaking from my own experience. Of course, you'd want to talk this over with you own physician and pharmacist. The problem is that a lot of doctors try to give you the latest/greatest 'thing' which is not always the "greatest" 'thing'.
Could luck. Hugs.

I took Cymbalta for about 6 months. It seemed ok, and I don't remember any adverse reactions. But everyone is different. It was prescribed to me primarily for pain and anxiety. I stopped taking it because I am uncomfortable with taking medication long term, especially something new, but I also understand chronic pain and the need to find relief.
Effexor made me feel like a walking zombie - I felt like I had no emotions at all, good or bad.

Thank you everyone for this feedback. Doctor did not recommend this medication for me; however, when I saw ads on tv I began to wonder if it would work better than the SSRI I'm currently taking. I did not know Cymbalta was addictive --ick.
