I get them!!!
The neuro would not believe me about it.....
I sort of just live through it....However I did notice a sharp decline in those symptoms when I started having my thyroid disorder treated.....
I have no other suggestions because I have not found anything that takes it away when it is happening.....It's just annoying really!

Tingling and numbness can be associated with diabetes so if you've had your blood sugar tested at visit to the doctor in the last year, you probably don't have to consider that.
Another possibility is B vitamin deficiency. You might try looking on the Peripheral Neuropathy Forum for more information. Cheerio.

I've had it a couple of times but nothing major!! I would've never thought about diabetes. Thanks guys!!
I have severe neurological pain with my fibro. I also feel like I'm freezing all the time. I used to take Ultranm and Hydrocodone and Anticonvulsants. I now take Lyrica for it. I works well for the pain. It's approved for diabetic neuropathy pain and siatica pain. It is currently in clinical trials for fibro pain. My pain is much, much better than narcotics. I'm off pain killers completely. My problem now is that I'm freezing all the time when it wears off. I don't know if it is drug related or if it is a symptom of fibro. Anyone else cold all the time? I can't tell if I'm actually cold or in pain.

I find that I am very sensitive to changes in temperature and especially suffer when it becomes colder. Even though I live in a very temperate and pleasant climate, I use wool socks, a heavier weight denim jeans and silk undershirts during the winter months. It does help.
Once I begin moving around the house instead of sitting and reading, I feel warmer. That probably has more to do with my three score and ten years, as decreased circulation is to be expected.
I also find that using an electric blanket to warm the bed before I get in, seems to help me relax and fall asleep more quickly. Recently, I found myself waking up at 4 AM unable to go back to sleep. The night I used the electric blanket to warm the bed and then a down comforter, I slept all night, until 1 PM! It sure felt good. Cheerio.

I have tingling and numbness, but have not discovered anything that helps. They both come and go as they please, although I can always sense some level of tingling. I am usually successful at ignoring the tingling, since it is so constant. The numbness makes me walk funny, and I end up rubbing my numb areas. It's been two years since that started.

Numbness and tingling can also be associated with spinal stenosis so you might want to make a trip to your orthopedic surgeon and allow him to write a script for an MRI of the lumbar or cervical spine.
You might want to check out the dermatomes...

I do have this - I was diagnosed as having "migratory parasthesias" which are common with fibromyalgia. Going entirely gluten-free helped me a lot, but other than that there isn't much one can do about it as far as I know.
I think that my feeling cold all the time was caused by a low level of B-12 or iron. I have started taking B-12, iron, Vit-C and a multivitamin-mineral supplement and the coldness has gone away.:) I still have the nerve pain. I stopped eating meat about 6 months ago and I think I had become deficient in these minerals. That is not what is causing the severe neuralgia because I have had it since 1987 and have had blood work through the years that show that I was not deficient in any of these vitamins or minerals.

I have had this for 5 years. When I was diagnosed with FIBRO, they couldn't tell me why my face tingled on a daily basis. I am glad I am not the only one.
Mine feels like when you've been outside for an entended amount time in below zero temperatures and your face aches from the cold. My nose is actaully cold to the touch when it's happening. Nothing much helps except total rest and Lyrica seems to be easing it somewhat, but I have just started taking it. Good Luck to you all!

I have Fibro and RSd throughout most of my body. Unfortunately, it now recently has affected my feet and knees. Always had to be careful with steps and knees but now the knees , ankles, and feet ache constantly.
Several months ago I was on my feet too long (I was having a rare day when the pain was at a lower leve). My feet were burning but I just ignored them and thought it would go away. Well - it didn't . Then I got pain in my knees and legs and ankles. Now I have constant tingling in the soles of my feet. Also, some numbness. It certainly beats having pain - but it is annoying 24/7 and it affects my walking.
By the way - so much talk about lyrica ....................I took 500 mg. a day for a month and it didn't touch the pain. It is like the other 35 drugs - nothing seems to work. Anyone taking higher doses of lyrica? Maybe I should have taken more. Dr. says no.
