Hi everyone,
I am new here. I had registered before but forgot my Username so I decided to re-register!:)
My name is Alison, I am 14 years old and I have RSD in my left leg, right arm and possibly left arm also. I developed it when I was 12 years old after an ankle sprain and it took 5 months for me to get an accurate diagnosis.
I have tried lots of medications and treatments and non have worked so far. The only pain med that offers me some pain relief is Ketamine but I am only allowed to take it when my pain is really bad as my PM Doctor feels that it could affect my hormones etc because of my age.
I have been on 2 Intense Physical Therapy Programs also and the first one really helped me. I couldn't walk beforehand and the PT's got me walking short distances - I still deal with pain of an 8 and a half on a daily basis but it makes a lot of difference being able to walk, even if it is just a little. I later returned onto the Program in September last year and it didn't help me at all. I am due to return back onto the Program in April although I am a bit unsure about whether or not I want to go.
I look forward to speaking to you all and thank you for being here!
Alison.
