I must admit that I am a computer novice that needs to have specific instructions like "Click Here" in order to function reasonably well. I am curious about the use of the icons displayed and the notation "Quick Reply." What does that mean?

I have always used the oval that says "Reply" to answer a post by someone else. What is the difference between that and the "Quick Reply." Also what do all those icons mean? Cheerio.

Hi Tootsie :)

On most icons you can hover the cursor over them and a short description will pop up :)

As for quick reply...well I honestly don't know much about it. I hate it. In more cases than not the quick reply feature is buggy and causes problems.

Ok this is a quick reply test. You have to click on one of the 2 icons on the far right bottom of any post to activate the quick reply.

It allows you to reply without having to load a new page (like you do in normal reply).

Basically worthless :P :D ;)

Thank you Zombie. Anything that is "buggy" to any user is something for me to avoid. I kept an AOL techie on line for abput 10 minutes once thinking that the problem was due to something I did or didn't do. Finally, he/she admitted that it was AOL's fault. When something doesn't work the way it's supposed to, I figure I hit the wrong key or something. Cheerio. and thanks again.

Quick Reply used to allow you to reply on the same page.

It didn't have some of the functions such as:
Smiley
Attachments
Undo
Redo
Wrap options.

Unless you clicked on the "Go Advanced" button.
That button just takes you to another page anyway so it was a redundant function.

Now it's just a pretty little box sitting dead in the water on the bottom
of the page.

Hello to All

This is the first time I have attempted to join any chat areas and I do not know how to make a posting. Any help will be appreciated.

I am just coming to terms that I have PTSD and still don't know what I need to know about it. Can anyone send me to some helpful sites ?

I also have cervical neck problems and peripheral nerve damage. All in all I am a mess and would like to be able to talk to some folks that would be understanding.

Thanks
putterneck

Hi putterneck :)

Welcome to BrainTalk.

We have a PTSD forum, but since the crash it's a little slow.

I did a brief google search of the old forums here and found the userful websites thread. In this thread are some links you might want to check out.
