Well, the birds have been returning, of course that means the Grackles too. I love waking up to the birds singing, they really get going about an hour before sunrise!
Jeannie, and pati, and who ever else have things starting to grow. I search nearly every day and nothing! I know it will came soon, I just can't wait!
Spring starts in nine days!:D

Robins & song birds have been here awhile. Buds on bushes are waiting for warmer weather just like I am......
Sine I am near the cost we had the robins show up here a few weeks ago in mass. The front yard was covered with them they were so pretty. Everything is blooming here and doing so much better than in the last few years where we had not got enough rain. The dogwoods are starting to bloom and the woods are just full of tuffs of white.
I hope spring comes soon for everyone.

Still way too early for anything to start growing here. We will hit near 70 today, so hopefully we will start seeing buds soon. Just not too soon as if we freeze again (and we will) it really messes with the trees and my flowering shrubs.
I will have to take pictures of the bridal veil spireas, they must be 70 feet of them. When in bloom, they are a sight to see! Plus they cover the ugly 4ft chainlink fence.
Pati, I will race you to really figure out what our cameras do. That way we can post pics.
Hugs
your discription makes it all sound so pretty and inviting.
Hubby said he saw a lot of red birds feeding at our friends house. They had just one feeder and it was snowing the othger day. They said at first they used a lot of sunflower seeds but now they use just regular seed. And hubby said the redbirds were plentiful. Makes me wonder if I am not using too many feeders. I have them in front and back and anywhere from 2 to 4 feeders both places.
Of course I noticed this morning just about ALL the seeds were gone in back. LOL. I have fallen so far behind in my duties to my feathered friends this year.
I will take even sparrow tho and be happy to see any feathered bird just about. I have a few chickadees, tit mouse and wrens even.
And neighbor's cats I try to keep scared off, LOL.

Joy, I am willing to bet the red birds eating sunflower seeds are Cardinals. Their meal of choice is sunflower seeds. Do you have a lot of water in your yard? My birds prefer to eat in the am and only if I have the sprinklers are going or if the bird baths are full and clean. I really do have spoiled, pampered or just picky birds.
Karen, I have wanted to plant a Dogwood since my mil died, in her honor as they were her favorites. When the construction on the back yard started on the block wall and still isn't completed the way I want to be. Anyway, since it looks as though I will be moving, I wont be planting any time soon.:(
Spring is wonderful! My sons birthday is Friday at 6:10am, Spring starts around the same time 6 something! We are going to hit 70's today and tomorrow. I think we are supposed to be getting cooler on Wednesday.
I wish I knew exactly when I was going to move, so I would know if I can plant anything this year or not.
Have a great day all!

Well I planted some crocus bulbs that I have had stashed in my basement for about three years just on a whim and lo and behold I look today and they are peeking up. Haven't checked on my tulips up front.
Noticed my first Robin today but truly no telling how long they have been here. I was pleased to see that I have a pair of Cardinals that have decided to make my little space on the planet theirs.
Yesterday was lovely, low 70's. Took shortcake for ice cream and splurged and had a banana split. Been years.
Flint had low 70s? The highest it has been here was one 'freak' day at 60 but usually the highs are in the low 50s. Its 8:30am now & 39*.
Since my crocuses were near the driveway my kids would run over them so I 'thought' I dug them up & we put a tarp that said nothing can grow through, then covered it with stones. Well, 3 or 4 crocuses are coming up (it's so nice to see those hardy flowers when you are still wearing a winter coat.)
Cardinals don't leave and I have some cardinal statues cuz they are my favorite bird.

I woke up to frost again. Trying not to complain after seeing the flood preparations going on & the tornado's!
I keep looking for my little white flowers that bloom early, guess I managed to kill them off? My Japanese Maple has buds,I was afraid I lost it this year from the unusually bad winter here.
I keep hoping next week's weather forecast will improve, right now saying possibly snow on Sunday! Ick!!!!!!

We had 76 degrees last thursday and it is 45 now. They are forecasting snow this weekend. Pati, like you I am not really complaining, just frustrated. We have buds on the trees, including the fruit trees, so it if freezes we will lose the buds.
I haven't seen my crocus' I remember I have a few on the corner. I need to look again, they could be under the leaves I never got up last fall.
