Hi there!

I am a 31 year old female from the northeastern US.

I have recurring, left-sided headaches, which are accompanied by neck and shoulder pain, mental confusion, intense dizziness, fatigue and a feeling of fluid moving about throughout my head.

My eye exam, which I had two days ago, came up completely normal. Visual field, pressure, and examination all were normal.

The pain started a couple of months after I fell four times on the ice in February of 2005. It started out as back pain, which went away after physical therapy.

I had a benign, 5 cm, deep lobe tumour of the parotid (salivary) gland removed, along with the entire gland itself, on 26 Aug 2008. The pain went away for approx. two months after the surgery, only to return. I went back to the ENT, however he told me that the tumour could not come back so soon.

For the past two weeks, it has intensified, causing me to miss several hours of work and spend the rest of my time lying down.

I am waiting on a referral to a second neurologist to come in the mail. The first one tried to say that my problem, in a nutshell, was that I was crazy and overweight. :(

All I feel like doing is lying down. It seems to be the only thing that makes me feel better. I have tried three OTC pain relievers, which barely touch the pain.

That's all for now.

I am glad to have found this forum and I will be sure to post!

DO NOT waste time with neurologists. Because of your tumor history, you should have regular follow up with your neurosurgeon....and count on a neurologist to give you a stupid and insulting answer to a complaint like that. They're utterly clueless about how the brain actually works and can only give you pills for symptoms.

Oh, yeah...5 cm??!! Do you have any idea how large that is?? Get an MRI and go back to your nsg, and good luck!

Hi!

Thank you for the welcome!

Sorry for the mis-commmunication. The tumour was removed from my parotid gland, which is a salivary gland, not my brain. My ENT surgeon removed it and I had several follow-ups. Every time I met with him, he said there was no way it could come back that quickly.

Sorry again. I edited my post so that it makes more sense.
