On the old board, I was posting Happy Birthday threads for people whose birthdays were listed on the calendar if somebody else hadn't posted a birthday thread for the person.

Back then, the MS board had its own calendar, but so far there is just the one calendar for everybody on all of the BrainTalk forums.

I'm not necessarily the best person to do this. I just elbowed my way in at a time when birthday threads weren't appearing and people's birthdays were being forgotten.

There are people on this board who are much better at doing graphics, etc., than I am, and so if anyone wants to do birthday threads, please speak up.

The people whose birthdays came between mid-July and now haven't had a birthday thread because the new calendar doesn't show the old board's data, so far.

So if I'm going to keep posting birthday threads, I hope that everyone who wouldn't mind having a birthday observed on this board will take a moment to make sure your birthday comes up automatically on the Calendar. Here's how to do this if you don't want your age visible:

Go to the User Control Panel (top left of the screen), then go to Edit Profile, and then find Optional Information in the middle of the page. Where you see Date of Birth, enter the month and the day but leave the year blank (it's optional). Then, under Privacy, choose Display age and date of birth.

I know this doesn't make sense, but I've checked it out. Your name will show up on the Calendar in the box for the date of your birthday, but it won't show your age.

Of course if you don't mind your age showing, you enter the year in the Year box under Date of Birth.

I'd like to do birthday threads for all of the missed birthdays (mid-July to the present) but have no information available until people enter their birthdays on the calendar. I have my old paper record, but that is over a year old, and some people have different user names now.

Thank you for cooperating!
