I haven't been around for awhile..
My wrist seems alot better since surgery, thank goodness.
I found out I will need another surgery on my elbow for ulnar nerve compression. They will be transposing the nerve to a different location to see if that helps.
I also injured my other wrist.:( I've been to four doctors and none of them were sure whether I had fractured my scaphoid bone. I finally had to go to an ER and was referred to an orthopedic. I saw him today and he said there isn't an obvious large crack but possibility of a tiny fracture with a sprain. He wasn't really sure because he said the scaphoid is tiny, hard to see small fractures on xrays.I'm wearing a half cast/splint for three weeks until my next followup. I can't have my left elbow operated on until my right wrist heals.
I've had a difficult time with doctors in general about my past abuse. A few of them know some of the history. At one point I thought about a second opinion from another surgeon and heard of a good one. I asked the doctor if I could be referred to this particular surgeon because I heard he is good. I was told that this doctor would not be interested in seeing you. I asked about another one and was told the same. After all that I was told I don't think there will be too many doctors out there who will want to help you. It makes a victim/survivor feel worse hearing that stuff. I don't plan on going back.
You know what is odd.. I've had two female doctors and I don't find them as understanding of abuse compared to one or two male doctors I had in the past. I'm not saying all female doctors are this way but so far this is what I have experienced.
