I just got a Windows Security Update:
Do you want to install and run
"http://download.cdn.winsoftware.com/files/installers/cab/WinAntiVirusPro2006FreeInstall.cab" signed on 7/18/2006 11:13AM and distributed by:
WinSoftware Corporation, Inc.
************************************************** ******
Caution: WinSoftware Corporation, Inc. asserts that this content is safe.
You should only install/view this content if you trust WinSoftware Corporation,
Inc. to make that assertion.
************************************************** *****
Then, I got another pop-up:
Security module responsible for popup windows blocking has been deleted
by computer virus. To block adware popups, you need to download one of
the security patches published by our official partners:
WinAntiVirusPro2006
WinAntiSpyware
I find it a little suspicious that I got these popups back-to-back.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

DO NOT INSTALL this product!
Try scanning with this online Microsoft product:
http://safety.*********/site/en-US/center/howsafe.htm?s_cid=mscom_msrt
or Trend
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/en/
{edit} You will find this product listed here near the bottom of the list:

I think I'm going to go with Trend Micro, but I'm not sure what this means:
BACK-UP. Prior to using the Software, You agree to back-up Your computer system(s) on a separate media. You acknowledge that any failure to do so may significantly decrease Your ability to mitigate any harm or damage arising from any problem or error in the Software.
************************************************** ***
Are they saying that I need a backup CD, or is there something else I
need before I can download this?
Thanks again!:)

Where do you get that message? At TM's site?

Where do you get that message? At TM's site?
Yes, that's where I saw it. I thought it was one of those CYA things,
"we aren't responsible if you have problems, etc."

You shouldn't be getting that message. Go ahead and ignore it/close it/cancel/whatever and continue running the online scan from trendmicro.

Thanks, Mike! Now, I tried to start the scan again and that same message
came up. It's part of a License Agreement. The form gives me the
option to click Accept/Don't Accept. What happens if I click Don't
Accept?

If you're asking about the HouseCall - License Agreement then yes accept it.
I guess since I accpeted it so long ago it doesn't show up for me when I scan. I had to delete everything from trendmicro and do the scan again to see the agreement.
Sorry for the delayed response, I've been pretty sick and sleeping most of the time lately.
