I am headed to Wegmans in a bit and hope to find a brand of vitamins that are gluten free. I am overwhelmed with all the options and ingredients I need to look for. Does anyone have a multi vitamin brand that I can grab and know it will be fine for me? I also need to increase my iron.
I have poured through many links so far and ..... I'm overwhelmed with information but know the knowledge will come to me slowly.
Thanks!
Karen

I need to go do the same thing in a bit here too.
But, one thing I have noticed at our local grocery chain is the generic brands more often than that don't use gluten fillers.
Even with that, I ended up standing in the pharmacy isle for 20 minutes reading labels. It seems that many multi-vitamins have wheat fillers. I finally found a generic label with iron that was gluten free.
So I would start there.
I am not sure what kind of store Wegmans is, but our local healthfood stores all carry gluten free medicines and vitamins. They just cost more.
My brother's celiac is more advanced than most (because he doesn't stick to his diet ) and he uses liquid suspension vitamins with great success. He malaborbs horribly, but the liquid will start in his stomach so he doesn't loose all of it once it hits his bowells.
I hope that helps a little.
If you have no luck at the store, there is iherb.com online. They are really reasonable and there is a lot to choose from.

I think that Nature Made vitamins are all gluten free, but do check the label for:
No Artificial Colors. No Artificial Flavors. No Preservatives. No Chemical Solvents. No Yeast. No Gluten
This basic multivitamin w/ iron says it is gluten free.

I often take NOW brand vitamins, too. I think they are all gluten free as well, but do the double check and read the label. Most vitamins will have a seperate statement stating what they don't contain. Its good to go with one that actually states No Gluten on the label. Here is a multi by NOW.

Contains no: sugar, salt, starch, yeast, wheat, gluten, milk, egg, shellfish or preservatives. Vegetarian/Vegan Product.
Yes, information overload. Sometimes I feel bad for dumping so much out there...haha... but just remember... you don't need to read it all in one day. You can come back to things over the next weeks and month and even years. And... when you are looking for a quick answer.. just ask. And sorry if this response was too late for your trip to the store.
