I applied at the first of June for SS disability benefits. I have multiple sclerosis, ulcerative colitis and the depression that goes along with it. I was told when I applied that I would have a decision in 3-4 months. It has been over 5 months now.
In October, they sent a letter sending me to a doctor of their choosing b/c the info they had was insufficient. So this doctor talks to me for a bit and asks me what symptoms i have. He did no physical examination, other than listening to my heart. I was just curious what the purpose was in me going there. He couldn't have told them anything they didn't already know. A couple of weeks ago SS sends another letter to go see a psychologist. He had me do the most elementary things, such as, identify a table, a magazine, and window. He made me add by 3, like 3, 6, 9, 12 ect.
Both of these "examinations" seemed ridiculous. But of course i went to both and did what i was told. I just feel like they are making me jump through hoops in hopes that i will fail. Anyone have any suggestions as to what i can do to get my decision? If they dont think i'm eligible, shouldn't they just tell me? Do these extra appointments seem like a negative or positive in my case?
thanks for reading and sharing any tips or info
