My 16 yr old has been taking Protonix for his stomach for a few months now and even though it works minimally it is better than nothing. Well on the 12th I put in for a refill and for the most part I wait for an email and call letting me know it is ready. Well my bad as I had sorta forgotten about it though I knew I was waiting for a scrip just now which one. Had my own to refill and figured I would take care of it then. Went to refill my son's med minders last night and realize he is out of Protonix. Can't remember how long for sure but knew it could have only been 3 days or so. Yesterday he is complaining of being sick to his stomach and later in the evening he has a headache so bad he actually breaks down in tears. We have tried Aleve, find not supposed to be taken with Celexa lol, so bad I actually gave him one of my low dose Darvocet.
This morning he wakes up for school and is almost in tears his head hurts so bad so I give him one of my Imitrex, I get on the net and see that within 2 days of discontinuation one of the side effects can be headaches. Not migraines, headaches. These are not headaches, these are full blown migraines. They really play it down on the side effects.
Has anyone else had this happen? I would never expect it from a stomach med I guess I consider them mild. I just found out that my Prilosec ramps up my Klonopin if I take them together, never thought it would be so.
