Hi

Has anyone with Moebius ever had this doene or considered it???? Just wondering if it might work for me. I wear glasses (some of the time) but my sight is just on the borderline for driving....I'd love to drive so was interested in seeing if lazer treatment might help me?

Anyone got any views?

Alex

I really don't know much about Lasik eye surgery, but Mike had his annual eye exam two weeks ago, and we asked the same question. The doctor said that she normally would not recommend it for someone whose eyes did not close properly, because moisture could become an issue. She did say however, that since Mike never has had an issue with dry eyes, she wouldn't rule it out. However, she said that we would need to get hooked up with an expert, not just any eye surgeon. We're in Massachusetts and have seen specialists before at Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary (part of Mass General Hospital). Mike is not seriously considering the surgery at this point, so we've gone no further.

I am wondering though, can the surgery actually improve your vision? My understanding is just that eliminates the need for glasses, not that it does anything that will make you see better than you do now.

I guess that answers my question about the surgery - I can't have it :( - dry eye problem person. eh, I like my glasses anyways ;)
