My daughter is 6 months old and has had seizures since birth. She has been on keppra, trileptil, phenobarbital and topamax. The keppra, trileptil and topamax increased her seizure activity. Phenobarbital is the only thing that has done anything for her seizures but when controlled slept all of the time. She has about 3 seizures a day, they last about 3 mins. Her MRI's, PET scan, lumbar puncture and blood work come back normal, EEG's normal between seizures. Has anyone else had a child like this? Did you get seizure control? How?

Welcome to the site. I was controlled with dilantin and phenobarbital during childhood. As I got older, things changed, new drugs were tried, and I started having trouble w/seizures again. My EEG's were normal when I was young, but as I got older some abnormal activity started to show. I tried drugs for 15 yrs. but they weren't helpful. Decided to have a left temporal lobe resection, to remove scar tissue and my left hippocampus.
There's many members who'd be willing to answer some of your questions. Feel free to start a thread on Pediatric Epilepsy (http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=341) or Childhood Neurology (http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=115).
I hope your daughter's seizures, will be able to be controlled soon.
