update on Toad (Jimmie Turner)

I spoke with Patsy this afternoon, and she tells me this is Toad's worst day, as he is incredibly sore, and very tired. He will probably be moved out of ICU tonight, and back into his own room.

In addition to having her husband in the hospital, Patsy's father has also been admitted for pneumonia, and a friend is in there for insulation inhalation.....all on different floors!! Continued prayers are appreciated.

Please tell Toad and Patsy they are in my thoughts and prayers...........and today I listened to Patsy and her sister's CD and it made me realize what a marvelous family they all are. God Bless!

Thanks for posting this.

Patsy called me yesterday and sounds exhausted. Toad was being detained in ICU because his sats (Oxygen saturation levels) are low. Patsy seemed to think he would be in intensive care for 2-3 more days.

One good thing is that Toad is receiving his oxygen through a mask. He hates being intubated! And my two girls are anesthetists - they work with ICU heart patients all the time. If Toad is off the respirator (intubation - that gosh-awful tube stuck down your throat!), then he's on the mend.

But please don't stop praying and sending good karma or whatever positive vibes you can send their way. Toad is a post-polio patient; and I forget how many times he's had brain surgery in conjunction with his DBS. Anything could go wrong. (Of course that's true of every day of our lives!)
