Oh my GOD~ What happened??? How in the world did they do that? didn't they do a biopsy before they did surgery? I would be livid!!! I can't believe that happened! I hope you're going to sue them! I sure would.
That's definitely malpractice on their part, and to put you thru that is just awful! Besides that, they basically "deformed" you! I've had surgery for that and believe me, I do NOT look the same as I did before!
Bless your heart, I'm so sorry. You must be heartsick. Please know my thoughts are with you. This shouldn't happen to anyone! God bless you. Hugs, Lee:eek:

its been so long since ive been back here. but here goes. sterotactic biospy was done for mircrocalcifications. said that it was high grade dcis, comedo type. but after a partial mastectomy and 33 rads. my mastectomy tissue report came back as only fat necrosis. they are still trying to get to the bottom as to what happened. rasquel

My gosh Rasquel, I hope and PRAY that you contacted an attorney!!! The radiologist should have known better. You should NEVER have had to go thru that surgery. If the radiologist wasn't SURE, he/she should have consulted someone else for their opinion!
When I had mine done, they were absolutely sure. If they hadn't been, I feel totally confident they WOULD have consulted others, as I know my doctor. She is very very thorough and she also looks at the films. I also had DCIS, but I couldn't have the stereotactic biopsy cause my breasts are too small ~ the needle would have contacted the chest wall. So I had to have the "old" kind, where they put the needle in and leave a small clip in there to show where it is.
Bless your heart, I'm so sorry you had to go thru this for nothing!!! Like I said, I hope you contacted an attorney! I sure would. God bless and take care. Peace, Lee :D

sometimes i wished i would of just had the lumpectomy to confirm. instead of the stereotactic. the pathologist from my stereotactic is the ones who stated that it was dcis. but the surgery from the partial mast. is what said that it wasnt. first they said that the stereotactic may of gotten it all. but since i had part of the lesion still in me. my dr. stated that was unusual to have part of the lesion dcis and the other part of it fat necrosis. so when they asked ? lab. to send out for my er/pr report. they never done that neither. it got overlooked. so john hopkins asked for the paraffin block to be sent to them. that they would do the er/pr report. but ? refused to send it. its a mess. but a couple of days ago. only after being told i was goning to get a lawyer. the ? lab did state that they would re-stain the slides. and re-look at it. so maybe after 10 months. i will be able to get to the bottom. of this.
