I have developed IBS since my gallbladder removal and have found that my muscle relaxers stop the severe, painful, bowel spasms.

That's great Christina. Don't you love it when one med solves other problems.

That was how it was for me w/Cymbalta. I previously felt like I had to pee all the time and Cymbalta helped that for me.

Whereas, I have seen on other threads, how some folks quit Cymbalta coz it impacted their ability to pee.

Our bodies are all so different. May I ask which muscle relaxer has helped you w/your intestinal spasms? What is prescribed to you for those spasm or for other muscle issues?

Sincerely,

Smith

I originally had gotten Zanaflex because of Trapezius tightness that was really painful everyday adding to my migraines. Went right up the back of my neck. They worked little but they sure knocked me out. The PM doc asked if they worked and I told him they sure do I sleep right through the pain. I had tried mega doses of Robaxin with no effect and Flexeril made me really sick so we went to the Zanaflex.

After I had my gallbladder removed I started developing symptoms of IBS and it only made sense to me that a muscle relaxer would work so the second time I had an attack I took one and it barely worked but the 2nd one worked so well I wanted to cry. I still have attacks but rarely as bad as those first two. Guess it is because now I know how to treat one when I feel it coming on.

I have seen you post about Cymbalta, my psych and I tried that for me. I am Bipolar II and also a chronic pain sufferer and we had hoped it would work for me but it gave me horrible flu like symptoms. I am so med sensitive it is ridiculous. I dread every time I get a med change or add lol.

I wanted to tell you a couple days ago how nice it is to see you still posting and sticking with us. I am glad you decided to stay.

Well thank you Christina. I have found the group here to be nice and interesting! Sorry it took me so long to reply.

I had IBS too and then after my dd, it went away. Recently I started taking testoterone and it came back. I cut my dose and it went away again.

Our bodies are so complicated, specially if we are dealing w/more than one physical/mental issue as many are.
