It is gangrene took over 300 cc out. Still can't do Surgery yet. I have never in my life seen this done before. It has been 2-3 weeks of a diseased gall bladder. Will not take out till it go down. Has a tube in his side to drain it now. and tube down the nose to drain off the bile off.

Deb,
I don't know why you are apologizing for taking up space, it seems to me that if there isn't an answer for you that you are in need of some support and that is as much of the reason for us being here as advice.
I'm sorry for being so far out of the loop but is this you are talking about?
Hugs,
Linda

Deb, I am going to take a uess at this. Your Gall Bladder is infected and your doc has taken a significant amount of infected matter from it. I understand him not wanting to take it out because of it's size and the possibility of it leaking necrotic tissue into your abdomen area.

Please remenber I am guessing here, once it is a safe size he will remove the Gall Bladder. I am happy to hear he has a tube to prevent bile from getting to the Gall Bladder as it would continue to grow.

I hope some of this makes sense. Ususal D=GB surgeries are done laparoscopicly. The other option is a 12 inch incision in the chest as was done in the past. I remember seeing my Step monsters scar and his being out of work for 6-9 weeks and still had pain when he went back to work.

Take care,
Kathy

Thank you very much for answering my post. I am just very worried over my dad he is 79. But acts like he is 40's He don't stop. Even when he is in a lot of pain form his knees. This has put a dead stop to him. He is very sick. They sent him home and then 5 days later he couldn't keep nothing down. Told mom to get him to the ER fast. He was in the ER for over 20 hour before they could but him in a room. They did a cat scan and it had busted but it sealed off itself by prayer and Gods hand holding it. But it pushed next to his intestines and blocked it. They have gone into the right side and put a tube in to drain it. when they did it they got over 300 cc of pus. It is gangrene. So now it will be up to 6-8 weeks before they will do surgery. So they will send him home once again. I feel so helpless. But he sitting up and taking small walks now. and picking on mom so he is some better once they got the pressure off.
Now to get my B/P down over this. 206/104

Hug

Deb, I can't answer your question about the gall bladder but it is good news that your dad is home. I am glad he is feeling better and hope he improves quickly so he can get the surgery to remove his diseased gall bladder.

Deb, I can so relate to dealing with family health problems and the added stress on to us. I'm glad your dad is feeling better and I pray he'll get the surgery he needs soon. Make sure you take care of you!!!
