Hi there,
I tried a while ago to register, and the site was somewhat disabled. I have re- registered and hope to be comparing notes with old and new friends.
I am considering trying the new drug Lyrica. Any users??
I have been on the same combo of lamictal and baclofen for going on 4 years now. Not much relief lately, not sure I want to increase dosage, I'm already on the edge. Maybe something new might be the ticket. A girl can only hope right??

Well hi Bomby, glad to see you back. I was so afraid when the site was down for 3 months that the old family would never get itself back together, but it's great to see people checking in. You'll hear from some Lyrica users (I'm on Trileptal myself) and maybe some other good ideas - but I wanted to say hello and nice to see you here again. Nancy
Hi BB!
I'm currently on Lyrica and Lexapro. Lyrica seems to block most of my pain, but I do up the dose by 25-50mg when breakthrough occurs and that has been quite often here. My normal dose is 75mg twice a day. For me, the se are lesser than with all the others I've tried, but they are still there. There is also the issue of weight gain (which seems to come from all these blasted drugs. I've got to work really hard to keep the extra pounds from coming on. As i'm sure others will say, nothing wrong with giving a try to see how it works for you. Keep us posted.

Hi Ellena,
Thanks for the reply. Can I ask what type of pain you have. I no longer have the shooting stabbing pains of traditional tn because I've had a rhizotomy that did a fair amount of damage. What I now have is a burning cramplike ache in two branches. It is always there. I don't know if the lamictal and baclofen are holding the stabs at bay, or not, I'm afraid to try something else for that reason.
Thanks for your input bb
BB,
I get the lancinating(make you want to die) ones and the constant stabbing and shooting ones. Since being on Lyrica, I get the sensations along the pathway of the nerves that makes me think somethings grabbing(kind of like a cramp) my face, or on my face, and I also get the tingly type that just appear and sometimes preceeds an attack. I have bilateral TN and no one has ever taken the time to tell me if mine is typical or atypical. From what I've read in Striking Back, I think I'm more typical than a. The breakthrough I've been getting is a minor sort of lancinating one. Thats when I up the doseage. I've run the increased doseage by my neuro and he says its ok for me as he knows I'm trying to get by with the least.
I hope this helps you and my descriptions make sense to you. If not, let me know and i'll try to be clearer.
