Hello again,
My doctor put me on a one week's regimen of Medrol after diagnosing me with TN early last week, after much pain, and a dentist's clean bill of health. I am finishing up the Medrol tomorrow and I must say it really has helped significantly. I can even chomp my teeth together (no food, just contact) and they don't hurt, well, scarecely at all. My jaw pain and the constant ache is gone.
NOW I'm wondering, since I had no evidence of the herpes zoster virus having been the cause, yet the steroids helped so much, does it mean I have a propensity for TN? Do I HAVE TN, Are the chances high that if I had it this once I'll get it again? I'm a bit confused about the future prognosis.
Thanks to any and all who can shed some light. I'm not scheduled to see the doctor again unless the Medrol did not help, so I can't ask her conveniently.
