OT I know...just wanted to check and see how everyone is faring.

We have 12 inches of the stuff at least where I live in Indy. I did a tiny bit of shoveling in the driveway; just enough to get the snow from the garage door and then I was going to quit. But when my neighbor saw me, she yelled at me and sent her son over. Bless his heart I know he was struggling towards the last. So, one side of the driveway is done and I am NOT worrying about my side. I just wanted my daughter to be able to get in and out. Oh, and hubby is in DC so I will just try to hire some more neighborhood kids tomorrow.

I hope everyone is haven't too much trouble...it is one of those days just to stay inside. ;)

I don't much mind the snow. It is the 20 below temperatures that I really dislike. Here in South Dakota, we have had 6" of snow on the ground since November. I know others have much worse weather but when people with relatively good weather start to complain, someone one has to say something.

Kathi,
My daughter just lives north of you and I talked to her earlier the grand daughter was having a ball.

Her in Ohio we have about 12 in. also and the snow is finally starting to let up. I don't imagine I will be outside for some time now.

Hi All,
Here in Connecticut the snow storm was not too bad. About 4-5 inches and then it rained so it is just really slushy. I cannot complain as the reason I love living in New England is the 4 seasons. Also, gives me a good excuse to stay in and nest on the couch watching movies without feeling guilty!

Wishing everyone well,
Diandra

because of the mountain of crusty, hard snow at the end of my driveway, i am stranded til further notice.

I have no one to plow. I can't shovel. The van won't make it out of the driveway.

So, i guess i wait til spring thaw. Should have gotten that extra bottle of milk. gulp.

sims,
*ack

kinda scary but i ok.

Mr. Wzrd,

How is it in Maine today? I haven't watched the news yet.

Michael, it is true...other states get dumped on alot more than we do. However, I do remember the Blizzard of '78 where Indianapolis was shut down like a ghost town. It was the first and only time in my life where I saw that happen. I just brought up the topic because it was such a large storm covering many states.

Linda, I bet the grandaughter was having a blast! :) It's pretty deep; think they said the worst in two years. Funny thing is...I didn't see any kids out in it yesterday. If I were younger, alot younger, I would have found the nearest hill to go sledding. :) I was asking the kid that was doing my driveway yesterday just where were all the other kids to help out. He said...no kidding! LOL!

Diandra, I love the 4 seasons as well...the snow is beautiful! Glad to hear you didn't have it too bad in Connecticut. And you are right...I kind of like it when it does this it gives me an excuse to pull out some movies too. :)

The only complaint I have thus far is the plows that keep throwing it all back up in the driveway. But my brother in law is coming over later to get the rest of the driveway done. :)

Simby, I just saw your post and am in the same boat. That's why I called my brother in law this morning. There is about 3 ft mound at the end of my driveway that my daughter is currently working on until brother in law can get here.

Here in Louisville KY the snow isn't as much of a problem as the ice that came before it. We have trees falling like crazy, an estimated 8000 powerlines down and about 500,000 people without power across the state. I am one of the lucky ones though, I haven't lost mine "yet". My parents live on a farm in central KY and have been without electricity for almost 3 days now. Luckily they have a wood stove to heat the house. My neighbor has a nice big oak and pile of rubble where his 2 car garage used to be. We're all still here though, that's the good news. :)

I'm a little late to the "snow" party, but here in upstate NY, we ended up with about 8 inches of snow, and then another .5 to 1 inch of ice on top, then rain.:eek::eek: Slippery is an understatement...I had two inches of solid ice on the steps outside, and it's still there today. The problem is we've had so much snow thus far and not enough days above freezing to melt it, so there are snow "mountains" everywhere, making getting around a bit hazardous.

Thankfully I was able to work from home (remote medical billing, posting and AR), so I don't have to go out in the bad weather. My boss is a c-spiney and two other co-workers are "lumbies" so they're pretty compassionate about not going in to work in bad weather, and understanding of the need to work from home some days due to pain.

Glad to see everyone made it through the rough weather ok. We're supposed to get walloped with another round of foul weather on Tuesday...its either going to be soaking rains (if the snow stays north of us) or another 12+ inches of snow if the snow line moves south! We just can't get ahead of the snow here it seems.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Theresa

The snow I love but we had snow then almost 2" of ice then 4" of snow. it has been a deep freeze as most people were without electricity. Thankfully we didn't loose our electricity but we did gain our daughter as her college lost electricity. She stayed for two days but her room got down to 50 degrees and decided to come home. After the plows had the snow and ice barricading our vehicles we finally got them out after two days. I am just glad that we didn't loose our electricity even though the ice knocked down many trees and limbs. It was a pretty landscape scene but we could have done without the ice:).
Our location is in Southern Indiana.
