I am a 41 yo disabled man from north Alabama, I broke my back in 4 places in 2004, I use to go to a pain dr but quit due to the many narcotics I was on, I have went to a couple of pain clinics and they always want to do injections and therapy, I have no problem with therapy at all, but I had a bad experience with injections to the back, I would like to find a Dr that I can talk and relate too, That will controll my pain with meds and therapy, Now dont get me wrong I am not seeking drugs to have a good time with, but I am looking for meds to control my pain with, as Ive heard stated over the past yrs, I am not a pill seeker, I had my drug man and quit, I done therapy, walked best I could, Lost weight, tried it all for 2 years and no luck, now I want to go back but my old Dr died, I just dont want any more surgeries or knuming injections, They simply do not work, Any ways any help or recomendations, or websites that I could look to find a compassionate Dr. Thanks so much. Bamma, I don't know how far you are and if you could travel, but we lived in Dothan AL for a very short period of time but this is where I was referred to my first pain management doctor. I know there were not many in that area because people came from Florida and Georgia to see him. Now Dothan is on the the Southeast corner of Alabama bordering both Florida and Georgia, but he was very good. He is at the Southeast Pain Management Center in Dothan, and it's a Dr. M. He was wonderful, a great advocate for pain patients. If this is a place you could get to, pm me and I can give you his full name and number.

I hope Melissa's answer helps you find a new PM. Dr Steve often recommends doctors he knows from around the country so I hope he answers your post.
