Both are necessary for normal neural function, and many people use B12 for its neuroprotective effects, and magnesium to prevent/ease muscle cramping that may be cause by enuromuscular compromise, but neither is a panacea if one's neuropathy is not directly caused by lack of magnesium or B12 deficiency.
Be wary of companies selling expensive "neural" formulae; most of the time these are made up of supplements that may be useful but are available more cheaply individually from other sources.
