I had surgery for Aneurysm in June 2008 and I have a VP shunt. For the life of me I cannot figure out why the left side above my eyebrow is still swollen? It's like a knot right above my eyebrow. Is there blood back there or what? I have asked the surgeon, my family physician and other doctor's. They give me no explanation at all. This baffles me because doctors are supposed to know something.... right? Anyway if there is a place I can go online to research this problem, I sure would appreciate it. Other than short-term memory, occasional headaches, depression is awful, I'm okay. They call me the miracle women.

I appreciate any help I get.

Thank you.

Hello there, not sure if I can help as I did not have a VP shunt, but I did have clipping of three aneursyms on the right side of my head. and I also have a lump above my right eyebrow. which is still tender. I asked my neurosurgeon what it was and he informed me it is from the plate they used to attach the scull god forbid if I have got that wroung as I too have a problem with memory loss. But it may be the answer to the problem

I thing medicine is still more of an art than it is a science, especially in the field of neurology. it is going to take a while before most of the answers are known, until then, all you can expect is an artful answer (a good guess.)
