Hello to all that had the awful experience of an aneurysm. I have a VP Shunt after the operation. It all happened in June of 2008. I'm a mracle because the aneurysm was bleeding. My head hurt so bad and I knew to call an ambulance. I prayed and ask the Lord if he wanted me to come with him or stay. The Lord knew my preference was to stay but I sure would have went with Him if that was His desire. Anyway, my surgery was on June 12, 2008 for the aneurysm and on June 23, 2008 I received the VP shunt. I am able to walk, talk, and do everything I did before surgery except for one thing...memory is not good, very short term, sometimes seconds short term. If that is my only problem than I'm blessed. I don't know information about the VP shunt. How will I know if there is something wrong with the VP shunt? I was totally in the dark about an aneurysm and I don't want to be in the dark about the VP Shunt. "An ounce of prevention is a pound of cure". That is where I'm at right now. After my surgery, I was the only person that was able to get up out of bed in a few days and walk without any complications. Amazed the Dr's and nurses were to see that all body functions were still working as if I didn't have surgery. I'm truly blessed and I have many reasons to live. Right now I have a concern about my left eye. Right above the eyebrow it is swelled. It has come down some, but I wonder is there something in there? No doctor has been able to tell me why this is swollen. Interesting? I was hoping to hear something. If anyone out there has or is experienceing the swollen eyelid, please tell me if you know what is going on. My vision is awful, wasn't that good before surgery now it has taken a fall. Thanks to anyone that responds to this email. Peace be with you all!
