A building under construction collapsed!
No Joke.
Fortunately, workers were on a lunch break when it occurred, so no injuries/fatalities.
Dozens of basements flooded, power out to thousands.
Wind, Rain, Cold and Dark. :(

wow Bluey!
Sounds like you live close to me!! It's the same way here!! We are having HIGH winds and trees blowing down, there's flooding and it's a mess!! I'm so thankful that so far, my house is OK!! I'll be glad when this storm is over as we had another one last week where people's houses washed down rivers and bridges went out!!
I hate this time of year!!
Stay safe Bluey, wherever you are!!
Linda :)

Bluey I sure hope you're okay!! Sounds like you're having a really bad storm. We're supposed to get some bad weather overnight, but I don't think it will be as bad as you're describing.
Please take care of yourself and let us know how things are going.

Hang in there Krashleen!! I love a light rain, but when it starts storming really bad I don't do well either. I live in Florida and have been through some pretty tough weather myself so I understand how you feel. Take Care!!

Yeah, being an amature meteorologist, I know the Pacific Northwest (Washington in paticular) has been getting hammered with wind, rain and snow in the higher elevations. I talked to my brother-in-law who lives in out that way and he's been having all kinds of problems.
We had a horrible stretch of weather here in September, 12 inches of rain in one storm literally destroyed my basement and everything in it. We were out of town and came back to a flooded basement, losing 100 years worth of family pictures and keepsakes. It's really been a miserable fall in a lot of places.

Hi Matuboo,
I'm so sorry for your flooding and for your awful loss!! It's really bad when we lose possessions that can never be replaced.
Wow!! 12 inches, is alot of rain in one storm. Sounds like your weather has been bad too.
Yes, yesterday was awful here in Washington State as have been all winter so far. I heard this morning that we are expected to have once again, another storm hit on Sunday night. Wow, I'm wondering if it's ever going to let up.
Yesterday on the news, the meteorologist said that this is the rainest November ever on record and we are just now in the middle of the month. Makes me wonder what the next half is going to bring.
I guess we can all be thankful for what we have been spared.
Take care,
Linda :)

So sorry to hear about the weather woes. That tornado stuff went through southern Louisiana Wednesday, and the huffing and puffing inside the house with all of the creaking and cracking scared me to death!!! But, all was well here. Katrina was not that bad here, though it knocked down some houses and huge old trees. This tornado weather seemed to form a vacuum inside of the house, and then release it with power. Glad it is over.
