Hello, I am a new member and I also have an 8 yr old w tourette syndrome. he also has an anxiety disorder and adhd. we have tried all different meds w little success. we arent treating the tics because nothing has helped and they were containable. so we treat the anxiety and adhd. he is on strattera for the adhd because that is a non stimulant. not very helpful but the only real option. and we just started effexor for anxiety. he hasn't been on it very long but i am very concerned. he started it on sat. by mon he was having uncontollable urges to swear. I stopped it and for the next 2 days it went away. the dr said its not linked and to try again so i did. he went back on thurs and by today its back. with the addition of middle finger pointing. as is lying and taking things that don't belong to him. uncontrolably. they say there is no link but it is very hard for me to believe. its fri night and i don't know if i should give effexor in the am and can't reach dr. he is not sleeping and very frustrated as am I. has anyone had similar experience???
