Well I am officially counting down the days! Hubby and I fly out to LA this Sunday and surgery is scheduled first thing Monday morning at 7:30, we have to be to Cedars at 5am!

Dr S will be doing another (6th) laminectomy and than putting in the VP shunt. I am a bit more, ok a lot more scared this time but I know I am in the best hands possible. I am also hoping that he will have some time to take a look and see if he can do anything again to help the horrible tingling/numbness/shocking pain in my left thigh (this is thanks to the first laminectomy here where I live, no comment moving on!) and am just hopeful he can do something, it has become quite bothersome and hurtful lately.

Well as usual I want to thank you all for you support and prayers as always next to my husband you all have been my rock through all this! I am hoping this is it for me I don't know how many more times I can do this, I know I probably wont be able to afford yet a 5th trip to LA! This has to be it. But I also know not to get my hopes to high with all I have been through.

Wish you all the best - Kim

Good luck Kim! I will see you there and say hello to Chuck. I share your trepidations, but it is the best thing you or I can do for ourselves. Just think, in a couple of weeks, we could be feeling human again!:)

Thank you all for your wonderful words of encouragement and prayers, you all the best group of online friends any gal could ask for!

Got a call from Dr S that my surgery is moved back to 9am Monday instead of 7:30, ya that means we dont have to be to Cedars until 7, much better than 5am! Also Cherry scheduled a MRI of my head w/without contrast along with the thorasic and lumbar spine that I already had scheduled. So glad to get that call too cause this fluid that drips from my nose with my abdominal binder on has gotten worse.

I am praying too that this is it, I know I am in the best hands I could ask for and I am so grateful that he hasn't given up on me yet, like all the lovely docs in my area. Chuck already said he will post as soon as he can otherwise he will be talking to Laura after surgery so I am sure she will post a quick update for you me.

Thanks again for all you prayers I will carry them with me. Kim

Kim,

Is he thinking you may have a cranial leak too? Or is he just checking for brain sag.
