View Full Version : Protruding Disk Thoracic 8 and 9

Just received results form my MRI and was told I have a protruding disk, thoracic 8 and 9. I fell off a ladder a few years ago and landed on my back. Since then I've had several different problems associated with the fall. Some of the symptoms have been cramping in the back, cramping on my sides (mainly my left side, which then wraps around over my heart). I also have urinary problems which started up shortly after the fall.

It took me this long to get an MRI because I get claustrophobic. The minute they put me in the tight tube I would go into panic mode. Tried Vallume, etc.. but would still get claustrophobic. Recently I switched Doctors and the new doctor has a larger MRI machine, and I was able to make it through the process, even got to listen to music during it.

So after years of living with the back pain, the cramps, and such, I finally have found out what's wrong. Only problem now is, I haven't been able to find much of a solution for this problem. Mainly told to learn to live with the pain and try different pain therapies.

Does anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a suggestion for specific pain therapies? I'm kind of lost right now. Been trying all different types of pain pills and so far the only one that seams to work without putting me out is Vicodin.

This is my first post, and have read many of your posts and found you all to be kind and helpful. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :)
