Hi Sarah,
It's getting much closer now to your MVD! How are you feeling?
I hope you had a good christmas, knowing that you will have the MVD soon?
Take care,
Anne

As I get closer to my MVD I feel very much a peace about it. Many angels have been put in my path to let me know things will be okay. Last week I ran into Dr. Stacey. I first met Dr.Stacey at the 2006 TNA National Conference. (funny story. Let's just say I am grateful he has a wonderful sense of humor.) He runs the pain management center at OHSU. When I mentioned to him about my upcoming surgery he mentioned that it would be a great start to the new year. I got talking last Monday to the unit secretary and one of the nurses on VA 9c. That is where I will be moved to once I am moved out of ICU. They both told me I could not be in better hands with Dr. Eller and the whole neurosurgical team. This is coming from two ladies who have no problem expressing their opinoins good or bad. I learned Christmas I am going to be a grandmother so the surgery was the least thing from my mind. Maybe that is a good thing as it does not give me time to freak out. The thing is I feel 17 so how can I have a grandbaby on the way???? :p
For me all that has gone wrong over the past 3 years just the thought the surgery is finally going to happen is , man I am at a lose for words. I am finally at a point where I believe things will be just fine.
Thanks for thinking of me.
Life is good,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
Great that you feel so positive and at peace about the MVD.
How wonderful too to have a grandchild on the way! When is the baby due?
Take care,

Hi Sarah,
I had my MVD done on December 20th and returned back to work on Jan 5th with my doctors permission. Is my recovery fast...yes. My surgeon said that my recovery would depend on me. I am fairly young 39 :) in good health and had a positive attitude. I have to say i could not wait to get up and moving afterwards. My husband had to slow me down.
I am scared about it coming back and slowly going off my medication ( taking away one pill every five days). The only thing that i have experienced is headaches by my incision. A couple of Tylenol and it is gone.
I wish you all the best and will keep you in my prayers. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Take care,
Shannon
