It does say not to take any more than 2 weeks and yes it also says unless told to by physician. If you do take it and are having loose stools or frequent bowel movements you need to drink a lot of water. Actually with most medications you really should drink enough water to help your kidney and liver health.
I have a 7 yr old that took it for quite a while and I did the research and we just kept him hydrated, kept an eye on his movements and he never had any problems.
Everybody is different though and docs do need to be kept in the loop.

I am taking Mirlax too. Thanks for sharing this information. I think I'll stop taking them from now on.
my doc prescribes me lovaza, i think i have that spelled right.
it is a fish oil and i take 4 large capsules a day. i find that helps me with my constipation just a tad bit more as well. anything that is suppose to help like that is useful. i use the mirallax even now since it is over the counter. but not everyday, only when i have to use it.
this only reminded me of when i had hemorid surgery and was told to take mineral oil, yuck. that worked really well too. back in the 80's when most of these things weren't around.

hi joy,
it is my first post.i just found ya'll:)
okay, i've been away for a few days. i can usually be found in the forum for emotional support. i could just join in the chronic pain forums but i'd just end up complaining all the time instead of most of the time. why not check that forum out and see if you'd like to join the there.
or look around and join in anywhere you'd like.
