Lavan,
I love fruitcake although I never get any for Christmas. It must be because of the stigma. Where my parents live there is a fruitcake factory. They make the best fruitcake. Sometimes my dad will buy a small one so I get my fix every now and then. They are expensive but oh so yummy.
I am glad that I am not the only fruitcake lover!
Happy Holidays, Javi

hello fruitcake lovers!
in this day, when fruitcakes are the butt of jokes from thanksgiving until new year's day, it is a brave thing to do to come out of the closet and admit you love fruitcake.
I LOVE FRUITCAKE!
yes.
i am unashamed to admit it.
the decadently sweet dried fruits. the crunchy nuts. the barely-there cake holding it all together.
i would go into an empty room with a cup of tea and a piece of fruitcake and silently eat my fruitcake, lest someone come and find me and make fun of my love of fruitcake.
i have found a recipe for a fresh fruitcake, like a summer cake, made with fermented fresh fruit and cake batter. i will share later.
i hope my declaration of love for fruitcake will inspire others to admit their love of fruitcake.
we must band together so that fruitcake will not disappear from the face of this earth.
nuts to you,
fruity jeannie :D

I love fruitcake too! After reading this, I want a piece right now.
My aunt gave me a hand written one years ago for unbaked fruiutcake. It was delicious. I really miss that aunt. I bought her couch and the two chairs that her and uncle Hardy sat in. It will be hard for the time is coming up that I will want to part with them I afraid I will want to hang onto them for the same reasons I wanted them.
Thats sad joy but I'm glad you have her recipe. Maybe you can hand down aunt ___'s recipe.
Here's a simple recipe I found http://mbgoodman.tripod.com/jiffyfruit.html
I am sorry for the sadness to pop up. I must admit that it will until all of February is over and done with. Then I'll put things to rest until net year perhaps. I'll try to start the booting them thought out as usually I do not have any bad thought at all about fruitcake. I love it like most normal folks do, LOL. tee hee. After all there is many kinds. My aunts was made with graham crackers. It could be made with vanilla wafers also I'm sure but the crackeres were so good, why mess with such a good thing?
