I am new to this site, but wanted to briefly share my TN story. I was diagnosed with TN in October, 2005. At that time I was having only minor pain/twinges. My Dr. had me start taking Tegretol, which I was allergic to! I was then placed on Neurontin. I started having severe attacks with the "electric shocks" taking over the right side of my face. I was having 3-4 attacks daily with each attack lasting 30-45 minutes each. The medication was not helping. I called my Dr. and begged him to do the MVD. On November 9, 2005 I went to Denver (which is 6 hours from my home) and had the surgery. YES, I took action immediately, but to date I HAVE HAD NO MORE PAIN! The MVD was a success and I am a healthy 52 year old and onery as ever!
I am a firm believer in MVD and would encourage anyone to not be afraid and "Go For it"! I realize everyone is different, but if you find out you have TN, don't be afraid to have the MVD. If you would have any questions, please let me know. I want to help ALL! God Bless
