Ugh. Another adventure for us. Caitlin has a dr appt at 1:30pm today...she just said her head hurt 'really bad' and when I asked her where she pointed to her old shunt site. I looked at it and it looks fine, but she is really white and her cheeks are super red, but no fever, temp is normal. She has had a few seizures at school this week. I hope it is not the shunt!!!! I just want a break for christmas from medical crap. I was actually almost starting to relax about going to the hospital lately...I feel like I live every day just waiting for what is going to happen next to land us down in milwaukee. I know y'all know how that is!! It sucks cause I have to drag all my kids with me, can't think of anyone who would come over thru this snow. I feel like I always am asking my neighbors to watch brandon, but i don't want them to pick up germs at the doctors and bring home flu or something before xmas. I hate this!!! :(

AMEN Sister!
I feel like I live every day just waiting for what is going to happen next to land us down in milwaukee
Take out Milwaukee and replace it with Charlotte and I am right there with you..
I hope that you find out it is just a headache and not a shunt problem, or anything else... It is WAY to close to Christmas to be having a hospital visit..

((hugs)) I hope it is not a shunt or seizure issue! You both need a break! If you are having bad weather could it be a pressure/weather front issue?
hope it resolves SOON

Hooray!!! The CT scan showed......a SINUS infection! :D I bet they've never had a parent say 'hooray a sinus infection!" before!! So she started antibiotics tonight and hopefully will be recovered by xmas. We have a busy weekend here too, christmas dinner for my dad's side tomorrow and church program on sunday. At least I know now why she is feeling crummy. Never thought it could be that, I just freaked when she pointed to the back of her head! When we got home after they called us and told that, I asked her if it hurt by her nose under her eyes and she was 'really bad!"...live and learn I guess, next time I will check that too before really worrying! :) I am glad I took her in though, now I feel so relieved and she can work on getting better.
One bad thing though, when we got home from hospital, we had been told that they would call us for results and on my callerid there was a call from ThedaClark (hospital) and I checked the machine and no message. So I called the ped office and they didn't have the results yet so I called the number on callerid and it was my mil...she was in the hospital! I guess she was having chest pains this morning and went in. They are keeping her overnight and doing some tests. Brian went to visit now that kids are sleeping. Hopefully she is better soon! Glad that Caitlin doesn't have something major going on to stress her out more...she worries a lot about Caitlin. They help us out so much with watching the kids I don't know what we would do without them. They are always willing to take them when we need someone. BTW, the boys went to my neighbors today and played with their boys and had a blast so they didn't end up bringing more germs from the doctor home with them! Glad now that I called the neighbors first since grandma was already in the hospital!! I just try to not bug the same people all the time. Time to go catch up on all the chores that didn't get done today...

It is good that they found the source of the problem.

meant to reply sooner. Glad it is sinus and not shunt. Hope the antibiotics have her feeling a bit better already so you can go ahead and enjoy the season. Hope your MIL is fine too. that's hard. hugs!

Glad to hear it is a simple fix and not something that would turn your holidays upside down. She should be on her way to feeling better just in time for all the fun! I hope everyone else in the family doesn't get sick now! Have a healthy happy season.

So sorry about your MIL! I hope that the doctors can help her quickly!
I am so glad that it was just a sinus infection and not a shunt or seizure issue, however for your dd!! YEAH! I hope the antibiotics will help soon!!
