post the songs you listen to when you're feeling down...
you can even post parts of the song that you like the most...

me:

godsmack - i stand alone

I'll never rest until I can make my own way
I'm not afraid of fading
I stand alone
Feeling your sting down inside me
I'm not dying for it

hanson - i will come to you

bob marley - redemption song

rivermaya - you'll be safe here

Are you with me Doctor Wu
Are you really just a shadow
Of the man that I once knew
Are you crazy are you high
Or just an ordinary guy
Have you done all you can do
Are you with me Doctor

I have an extremely rare form of familial amyloidosis that includes lattice corneal dystrophy, and I'm losing my eyesight. There is no treatment or cure, and no hope on any horizon. I was originally told I'm the only one in the USA, but there are a few others - still, not enough worldwide to study for treatment.

My eye exams are tortuous - very painful. Two songs in particular help me through those exams.

When my doc is examining me, it's "Doctor My Eyes" by Jackson Browne

"Doctor, my eyes
I cannot see the sky
Is this the prize for having learned how not to cry"

When the parade of docs line up to look at my eyes, it's "Wonder" by Natalie Merchant.

"With love, with patience and with faith
She'll make her way?
