Hello everyone!!!
Well it's been 8 days since my clipping surgery. I am sitting up and talking. I have been laying down all week sleeping, but yesterday I started getting up and letting my dogs out and walking around a bit. I feel really good today and will try to do a little more everyday. Unless my brain says, whoooo slow down. I don't want you to move that fast. I am hoping by Christmas I will be doing good enough to spend Christmas eve with my family. I have my 44 staples removed on the 23rd.
Myself or my husband have not talked to Peggy since she got home on Monday. Last I knew she was having some trouble with her medication. I will try and get a hold of her today so I can give you an update. We told her husband we would give her a few days to try and adjusted her meds.
If you have any questions about the surgery or what I have been through in recovery, please feel free to ask. ;)
God bless all of you and think you for being here for me!
Love
Kim

Hello Kim,
So happy you are home and feeling a bit better every day. Oh man - what you must have been thru!
How were your Nurses in the hospital? Were you treated with kindness?
Yes - you and Peggy have been in our thoughts for sure. Peggy's husband did say the other day poor Peggy was still having trouble finding the right meds - would love an update if you get to talk with her.
Here's hoping you heal well and have a Very Merry Christmas with your family!

Hi Kim,
Glad to see your post, and know you are up and around a bit now. Don't overdo!! I took a photo of my staples (my railroad track;) ). It will feel good to get them out, but you may still have some discomfort and itching for awhile anyhow. Don't be surprised.
I've been wondering/worrying about Peggy, too. Please do let us know here if you find anything out.
Have a wonderful Christmas!! Take lots of naps ;)
Take care,
Kitty

Kim,
So glad surgery is behind you, congratulations!!!
Sleeping in your own bed is priceless, eh....... Please take good care of yourself. I remember eating was an issue for me, so I hope that you are eating, resting, and slowly walking around house. Remember not to much....
They used some freezing stuff on me to take staples out, and while i do remember using a few curse words, it felt great to have them out. I am now 4 months post op and my head is just begining to feel like a normal head again. So I hope that gives you some hope. I was worried it would always feel like a bowling ball, not so.
Like Kitty said looking back I wish I had taken photo of my staples and also my great big swollen black eye, to save, but i forgot. I took about a month for eye and bruising to go back to new normal.
Take care and fill us in when you are up to it. Also please let us know how Peggy is doing
Take care and rest up and watch all the movies you want.

My husband talked to Peggy's husband tonight. She is doing a little better, but still having some problems with her medication. I'm sure everyday she will get better. I have faith in her and just needs to take it easy. I realize that I am really good in the morning then, towards the end of the night my brain gets really tired!!
I just wanted everyone to know that Peggy is home and resting and I'm sure will be back on here soon reporting.
Take care!
Kim
Hi Kim
Nice to meet you and glad that things are going well for you. Please remember to listen to your body - you have been through a huge prodedure and your brain takes a long time to heal (usually about two years to get completely 'back to normal'). The tempatation to go out and move mountains will be high - but you will probably pay the price in fatigue and/or headaches.
Where is your incision? I am guessing that it is a pretty long incision line with that many staples. Mine was from the top of one ear, across the top of my head and finished at the top of my other ear - about 10 inches. I had 45 Staples and three stitches (from where they took out the drain).
I am nearly five years post clipping, but I still remember how much I wanted my life back and how uncooperative my body was if I pushed it too far. Are you sleeping OK? That is something that most of us have problems with - especially after we come home from hospital, and often for many months after.
Please look after yourself, and if I can help in any way, please let me know.
Congratulations on being another 'annie survivor'.
Cheers
Lyn
