I've been reading some pretty amazing stuff on Nerve Regeneration and B12 (Mostly in Rats of course).

I have been supplmenting Natral Factors 1 (1000mcg) sublingual daily for months. I'm wondering if I am WAY UNDERSUPPLEMENTING for my purposes.

Can anyone lead me in the direction of any studies on the toxicity of upping my daily to perhaps 5 10 or 20mg?

Any studies on how much is actually absorbed Sublingually?

To summarize: I'd like to make a substantial dosage increase for at least a couple of weeks but don't want to do this if there are contradictory studies.

And don't say ask your Doctors... because I've been to 25 and when it comes to Nutritional Issues they have all been completely lost... excepting 1 Naturopath but she couldn't answer my questions either.

using several times those doses of the methylcobalamin type of B12 with absolutely no problems, and with dramatic results for some. Even for some who could not be shown B12 deficient. If there are any contradictory studies, I haven't seen them, and I read just about everything I get my hands (or keyboard) on on the subject.

In fact, one gave an individual who could not eliminate extra B12 in the urine (kidney problem) repeated, large doses of methylcobalamin----and no problem.

Here is a good description of some of the possibilities with citation in the text.

By the way, for anyone who doesn't know, 1 mg = 1000 mcg.

Thank you.

Have you seen any studies on absobtion % when taken under the tongue? I'd like to track not just the number of tablets taken, but try to get a feel for how much I am absorbing.

Since the B12 molecule is large, and due to that fact there is debate as to whether any actually can be absorbed sublingually....

And, since even if it can be absorbed sublingually, much or most of it is swallowed anyway....

And, since that which is swallowed would be absorbed and very different rates depending on the presence and severity of malabsorption, it is impossible to have a simple answer.

Good thing it is safe. ;)
