i am typing this with my eyes closed must save them; think i have tn; went to a rehab. specialist who has tried nerve blocks etc., I already have ms but have had shots of pain to the eyes; both; and periodic shots of pain to the cheek and teeth area

the eyes are the worst because i also have temple aches; and pain when i move my eyes areound; can't look up; to the side etc.

anyway we tried lyrica; but couldn't take both that and neurontin; due to a contraindication

any free time; or time waiting for something; talking to someone; going to a group meeting; is spent with my eyes closed

i feel i might as well be blind

went to two different neuroeye docs.; one said i was crazy all the way around; another said i had a problem that was related to reading too much

i can't read or watch tv etc.

anyway i know i need to see a neuro. who specializes in tn but i have neuro. rejections; so many related to my ms; peripheral neurapathy; because i pass there rudimentary tests.

not here with questions; just wanted to join in;

Hi,

How awful that you have so much pain.

Have you been in touch with the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association? Perhaps they have some suggestions for you re a neuro. Sounds to me you need a new one who can assess you and who hopefully has some new suggestions for meds to control the pain.

Take care,

Anne

thanks anne so much for responding; I think the last time I was here I was directed to TNA; and forgot about it; my cognitive is shot; i guess that is one of the many lights in this darkness; i can laugh and laugh hard at my brain fog.

asked my husband if there really was a north pole or if that was just where santa lived; i think it scares him; he is my other light;

but will get to the tna sight when i can get some eye time

thanks again

Kris

baabr,
Have you looked into increased CSF pressure as a possible culprit for the eye pain? The optic nerves are also surrounded by CSF, and can be affected by the same pressure. I have no med background, this is just a path that I am heading down with my own neuro. We are looking at the possibility of "idiopathic intracranial hypertension". I sincerely hope that your pain lightens up enough to open your eyes, and that you can find a neuro that LISTENS.
Good luck,
Lily
