I painted this using masa paper with water colors.
Its framed with purple suede matting. Its pretty large at 28"X36"
The little plaquet says "Finding beauty in the Ruins".
It hangs in waiting room at a pain clinic in Gresham Oregon.
I gave it to a doctor who is the most compassionate doctor God has gifted the community of people who've been ruined with pain and suffering.
Blessings, Cheryl

Your rock houses are wonderful. Great idea. I have a friend who paints bricks. He paints beautiful country scenes that rap around the brick. You're paintings are also beautiful. Thank you for sharing them with us. I dabble for fun but cannot accomplish anything worth sharing. I do best writing poetry. You are very gifted.

Thanks again,
Melba

They're asking for artwork submissions here on BT for that magazine "Neurology now".
I'm wondering if I should submit this one?
I mean I'm not that good an artist...just a little crafty.
The painting is a study of one similar to mine.
I had it professionaly framed and matted.
The little plaque below the painting states "Finding beauty amongst the ruins".
My hands are shakey and lots of muscle twitching, weakness and fatigue plague me constantly.
This painting reminds me of what many lives suffer when we're no longer whole because of illnesses and diseases...
we're broken, fallen down and left behind where natural processes take place.
Weeds, thorns and briars over take and ruin us.
But when someone does care for us....with help we can become beautiful in our own way.
Thats why I gave this painting to my Pain Managment doctor.
He hung this painting in the large waiting room...its the only picture in entire room.

This doctor has taken those who've been broken, fallen and ruined and tries to fix the problem and ease their pain.
He eases suffering by listening and hearing what has happened to our bodies, then tries to solve the problem.
He finds beauty amongst the ruins.
Had I not had such support, I would not be alive today...I would have given up on life itself.

Every single day is a struggle...when I wake up, my goal is to make it to the end of the day.
Some days are better than others, some days are down right horrible.
"Life" should NOT be this way, but it is for many of us.
Blessings, cheryl

An artist is often most critical of the creation.....the audience sees what they see and is drawn in/lifted by it.......

It *really* is *good*........ speaks to me...and probably many others:)

And so what anyway, it meets the criteria for entry.....;)

Thanks for sharing.

p.s. the whole package....matting/frame/painting is spectacular....did you do that yourself as well.......?
