hey dawn!

yes, welcome to the world of low sexual desire in women who are taking antidepressants. :(

i'm not being a smartie, just telling you that this is a very common problem for everyone who takes antidepressants.

i think you first have to decide what your problem is.

-do you just don't think about sex, or do you have no desire?
-if you have no desire, but your partner starts stimulating you, do you start feeling desire?
-if you start feeling desire, can you go onto having an orgasm?

if you have NO DESIRE, you have to ask if another antidepressant would have less of this side effect. if you've tried other antidepressants and this one works best for you, then you might ask your doctor for an androgen-based hormone that stimulates desire in women. there are also some studies out there that suggest a dose of viagra for women may stimulate their desire. again, your doctor would know.

if your partner starts stimulating you and you start feeling desire, you're halfway there! it might take you a longer time to reach an orgasm or you may not be able to reach an orgasm. you can do several things to give you more stimulation while your partner is stimulating you also. experiment to see what works.

if you can't have an orgasm, the viagra and the hormone i mentioned above might help. also, there is a cream that can be applied that contains l-arginine that will make it easier to orgasm. don't get the cream that has menthol in it, because that is a local irritant. just get plain l-arginine cream. read the label for the ingredients.

here is an article about the efficacy of l-arginine and the name of the hormone:
