Hi, I had the same kind of stroke on July 21, 2005 at the age of 34.I too was the do everything person around the house. Unfortunately, I didn't teach my 3 daughters (ages 11,12,7 at the time) to do anything around the house. Our poor husbands!!Iknow I still have a lot of guilt about the situation my family was forced into. i also can't use my left arm at all, you are not alone sweetie. Just hang in there. It won't seem that bad after a while. we can lean on eachother now. Just always look for something good in a bad moment.TTFN,Melanie

I know it is tough, but you will learn there are ways you can make up for the damage the stroke did. My husband is recovering from a Traumatic Brain Injury and you would be amazed at his improvement. For memory there is a gaming system that most kids have the Nintendo DS (I believe that is it) and there is a memory game, hubby likes that one. Note pads, makes yourself notes so you dont forget stuff.
There are several forum here for you, Strokes had one and Traumatic Brain Injury has one. There is one for memory, depression, you name it. You found a great place to gain information, and the support system is awesome.
Always remember you are still on the right side of the grass and all you can do is take one step at a time. And surround yourself with people that have patience and understanding. After all you did not ask for this.
