2003 Harvard supports drugging of little children with Methylphenidate, Prozac-like drugs, and so-called "anti-psychotic drugs."
Supports patent neurotropic drugging agents as medicine.
Harvard provost supports nebulous DSM "diagnoses" of "disorders' with no etiology, no biochemical test even in post mortem to show a person "had the disease" they were labeled with.
Prodromal: Harvard supports with verbiage drugging little children early as "intervention or prevention."
Harvard leader: Does not mention B-viamins, zinc, nutrition, antioxidants, EPA/DHA, fish oil or Omega-3.
Harvard leader produces genetic propaganda rhetoric and brain imaging propaganda rhetoric -- while, again, lacking any legitimate medical discription, offering these as scientific seeming substitutes for real science. This man and others merely reiterate the mantra that something is defective with these people in their genetic code and with there brains using this flimsy conman talk. Psychiatrists and drug companies attempt to appear scientific with Computerized Axial Tomography cross sectional views of the brain, Positron labeled glucose photon emision computerized tomography. I'll tell ya the boys and girls at N.I.M.H. didn't invent these things and what they have to say about the images lacks veritas.
They take adolescents label them as "having" the scientific-sounding so-called "schizophrenia" based on personal interview and word tests. Then with out any effort to find what may be going wrong with the metabolism that may be causing brain impairment and disfuncion with mental/emotional symptoms (the cause of the mythic schizophrenia being unknown) they proceed to give them neurotoxic drugs as the single therapy. Seeing on computer brain scan images that these children -- who probably had something going wrong with their metabolism prior to their being labeled (all unaddressed, untreated) who were then given neurotoxin/hepatotoxin dopamine receptor antagonists (called anti-psychotic medication) as their exclusive "therapy" -- have descerable brain damage they pronounce this as a proof of the existence of their mythical diseases) the validity of their "science," the need for their "therapies," and the validity of their (word test) "diagnoses." Harvard is stupid (not really - they are a vanguard, a cutting edge in mind-blutting propaganda drivel and brain impairing SSRI, dopamine/seritonin receptor antagonist and benzodiazapine GABA agonist - patented - trademarded - vastly marked up - brain drugging foreign chemical agents from the pharmaceutical giants. Veritas.
Harvard leader attacks people like Szasz, enemies of (so-called) "psychiatric diagnosis," (exclusively psychological word test and professional interview based categorization of people - involving no medical chemical tests in determination) saying that they were judging psychiatry which is a science in the 1960's and 70's when it was in a very early stage of development. He offers nothing of substance beyond what Szasz criticized 40 years ago (unless you are swayed by computer images showing average brain shrinkage in untreated people given hepato/neuro toxins.)

Is there hope for these children?
JR: Yes. New drugs have greatly improved life for many children with various psychiatric disorders. But behavior therapy and family counseling are valuable complements to drug therapy.
