Hello !!!!
My Windows Media Player 10 has been automatically updated to 11 (have XP Windows) My server is AOL.
Have tried to revert back to 10 which I prefer but having no luck.
The program list is not showing Windows Media at all now & on my last attempt to change it came up 'You have successfully updated to Media Player 10'.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thank You.

Hello Jaycee, welcome to BrainTalk
To roll back from Windows Media Player 11 to a previous version, do the following:
In Control Panel (Category View/Classic View), click Add or Remove Programs.
Now do one of the following: If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2, select the Show updates check box (at the top of the list), click Windows Media Player 11 (in the Windows Updates section), and then click Change/Remove. If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 1 or earlier, click Windows Media Player 11, and then click Change/Remove.
Hope this Helps, post back your results, Thanks. :)

Thanks sho-dan.
Think I'm back to Windows 10 but the problem is that I don't see the usual format.
Previously all I had to do was click on 'GUIDE' and type in the artist or song name and voila !!! it just came up, not all the web addresses I see now.
Could download quite easily and save to 'My Music'.
How do I get back to this?
Also my OUTLOOK EXPRESS has gone to a shortcut (wherever that may be) so have to read my mail now from the AOL site.
Trust me to muck things up.
Any suggestions please !!!!
Regards
Jaycee

OK, I'm a real rookie! My son is my compter guru & he's not available much these days.
I have the part of windows media player that allows me to watch videos on web sites. I assume it was a free download?
Now if I want the full blown version (to be able to search for songs & download them for CD format) can I buy it off the Microsoft website or in a store and how much does it cost?
On the Microsoft website it says "try before you buy". Would that be just the player I already have or everything? And what happens after the trial period?
Can you tell I have never downloaded software
Oh and is version 10 easier to use than 11 ? Or would I even be able to get version 10 if I am purchasing it now. My concentration is bad, so I briefly read the answers above, but I need a starting point before I even worry about them.

Thanks Sho-Dan ! and Merry Christmas!
I'll get to it soon? - which means some undetermined time in the future :D
Could be today, but I have to just go with the flow (according to my symptoms). Yesterday I had a major flare, so I'll really have to pace myself now (I am adjusting to a setting change in my valve for Hydroccephlus).
Any get started tips?
Cathy
P.S. Why is it free ? when the screen I checked earlier said "try before you buy?
