Have you, or we talked about this? Hyperbaric treatments for autism. I find it some what feasible myself. Before my dd had her surgery I was unaware that she was not breathing appropriately most likely not getting enough oxgen (even though her pulse ox was ok) didn't see the difference till post op.
I also remember a homeopathic treatment for autism we found many years ago that was about getting more oxygen to the brain.

One of the other groups I'm on have MANY kids who have done/are doing HBOT. Some parents have even invested in home chambers and have done it for years.
None are even close to being cured, or greatly improved.

They are running clinical trials on HBOT in autism:
http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00406159?term=hyperbaric&rank=8
and:
http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00263367?term=hyperbaric&rank=12
and:
http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00335790?term=hyperbaric&rank=24
and:
http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00324909?term=hyperbaric&rank=25
and:
http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00670891?term=hyperbaric&rank=26
and:
http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00404846?term=hyperbaric&rank=28
and:

I've not heard any claims of cure, but some people seem to think it improves things. I was invited to a couple of these trials, but doubted that I cold get Allie to sit calmly inside the chamber for the period of time that would be needed for the treatment.
I know some people who are trying this. They have spent thousands on treatments (including travel to Baton Rouge for the treatments) and are seeing some results. But not dramatic results, not for the amount of money they've spent.

Based on the faulty premise that what's necessary in measured amounts is better in greater amounts.
Soon to join secretin, chelation, FC and countless other "miracles" that proved worthless.

Actually I saw where you could lease a machine for 200 bucks a month with a three year contract. I wouldn't have room for this thing, but it is good for a lot of other conditions like to loose weight.
I would prefer my own little oxygen bar, they hook it up with aromatherapy and it could be yummy while also helping the family feel better. You can rent one of these things for your next birthday party.. hee hee

hbot is often used in treatment of kids with Cerebral Palsy and TBI. SOunds like it's no big deal...especially when you can lease a home machine. HOwever, there is significant risk associated with this. If we had a situation that justified it's use (I personally don't believe autism does) I would NEVER EVER use one that a 'lay person' is using at home. (some do it for others out of their homes)
