Hi everyone, I was recently diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, I was diagnosed with tourettes and bi-polar and now this, I am not sure what schizoaffective disorder is, I can't tell what is bi-polar or tourettes or schizoaffective disorder. Can someone please help me here. All I know is I say Hoo Aah alot and I was not a marine but air force. I can't stand war movies or spy movies or I become paranoid, is this schizoaffective or bi-polar or a tourettes syndrom, I am the most clean person, my apartment looks like no-one lives here but it looks like someone cleans the place constantly, I am a very timely person and expect everyone to be the same. I expect everyone to eat healthy and I teach gun safety at a gun club and I expect everyone to be safe and get a little perturbed when someone does an unsafe act, I get paranoid that people are following me but in the back of my head I know that no-one is following me anywhere--if they were then they would be really bored, I am hyper most of thetime and have very little patience especially at the hospital where I go, if the doc is late by more than an hour then I get angry and go outside but not until I tell the receptionist my cell phone number so when the doc is ready to see me she can call me outside where I will be smoking a cigerette. When people stop and visit in an aisle at the store and don't move out of the way when I very nicely say excuse me, I then proceed to make off with their cart and put it somewhere they won't bother me and I don't care if they get angry because if they want a fight then they can bring it on, is this schitzoaffective disorder (my spelling is not so good either) I got into a food fight at the hospital because a man got angry at me for throwing a tomato slice to a squirel. Is this Schitzoaffective disorder, my doc is not clear to me at all but he is a good talker but not at all a good listenner. He keeps me in the dark, I feel like a mushroom.
G'day mate,
Good to see you posting. Been a long time. I just saw your name here in the list of posts and wondered if it was ok if I comment about a couple of things you've written.
I can't really comment on a lot of what you've written because I don't know much about it all, but the "Hoo Aah" could be a vocal/phonic tic. What do you think? You had many phonic tics over the years that involve words? Vocal or phonic tics do not have to be ones like throat-clearing, or sniffing. Some do involve words and it doesn't have to be like coprolalia words. Some of what you say about cleanliness and adhering to routine sounds as if it could be more like OC behaviours which can go hand in hand with TS. Some of the issues regarding things which others do that are unsafe... well, to me that's just common sense and I'd probably get perturbed as well. As you know I'm not a doctor, but those things stuck out from your post from my own experience. Tourette Syndrome involves tics. Motor and vocal/phonic tics. All other behaviours apart from the OC component that tends to go hand-in-hand with TS, are something else. They are not part of TS. Lots of people might have ADHD or someone else might have Bi-polar disorder, or something else, but that isn't part of the actual TS and those things need addressing as separate entities if they're causing problems or distress. Hope that makes sense.
take care of yourself there,
Lara

I may be overreacting. I have a 12 year old son and a 53 year old girlfriend. She does not like me spending time with my son or my parents or my sister. My son was born from a relationship with another women before my girlfriend and I met. I have been dating Susan my girlfriend now for the last 3 years. She will have nothing to do with my son and she wants me to be the same way. My girlfriend spends most of the week every week with her mom who has dementia and her dad who recently had part of a leg amputated because of an agressive tumor. Her parents live an hour and a half drive from here. She stays with them at their house. Susan's house is about 4 blocks from me. She won't marry me because I spend time with my son when she is gone. I suppose you wonder how Susan pulls this one off, she practices law from her home part time, she has no kids and can't have kids anymore because of menopause. I am receiving SSDI and am service connected so I have enough money to survive. I want to marry Susan and also spend time every month with my son. What am I doing wrong. I am so confused. Susan makes me feel bad for spending time with my son, calling my sister on the phone or going to lunch with my parents when she is out of town with her parents. Am I doing something wrong?

kids are special You need to keep yours as much as possible. The girlfriend is not worth it. She wants to control you. Relationships should be about sharing not controlling Find a neew girlfriend
