I probably should set the recorder since I'll be painting and forget about.

It was pretty good. They covered some of the basic stats that we all know. They covered the fact that this is not on many docs radar screens [even GI docs!!!!!!]- which we all know.
I'm glad Heide was able to use her platform to get this out! Every little bit helps!

Didn't record it but it was good. Heidi Collins, who says she and her son have CD, interviewed Peter Green of Columbia University.
I notice that the time to get diagnosed (if one gets diagnosed) is now 9 years instead of 11 years. The undiagnosed remains at 97% - this is if you think the incidence of CD is 1% of the population. With better testing, it may turn out to be much larger IMHO.
Dr. Green mentioned neurological problems, anemia, fatigue and infertility in relation to CD. He also said that CD is often misdiagnosed by GI doctors as IBS, IBD and Crohn's.

I didn't know Dr. Green is a Brit! :D I thought she sort of cut him off at the end, and it seemed awkward. It was very short - maybe 7 minutes total? Like that he was able to talk about dental enamel, anemia, etc. We'll have to leave feedback on the CNN website...

I suspect she was running into a time factor. They had to get to all the political mumbojumbo going on. :(
He did mention neuro issues too.

There was a follow up story that can also be found at the above link in my previous post. You may need Quicktime to watch these videos - that is what worked for me.

Great find! Thanks for posting. I especially like the fact that she had migraines as her major symptom.

The woman interviewed, Vanessa Maltin, wrote a cook book, Beyond Rice Cakes, that is a collection of easy to make recipes. The target audience is the young celiac, but any age would enjoy them.
Vanessa was at the International Celiac Symposium. I understood her to say that all proceeds from book sales at the meeting were donated to the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness. http://www.celiaccentral.org/
