Four years ago, a podiatrist chopped one nerve out of each foot, because she felt I had Morton's Neuroma. I was having sharp, stabbing pains, and....by removing those nerves, those stabbing pains went away. However, the numbness was not fun, and additional burning began and so did the long road to a different diagnosis. First neurologist? Idiopathic PN. All the test...but, none really confirmed anything....thus idiopathic. Today, I sit at my computer, with my stenosis somewhat in check....do to just resting, anti-inflammation pills, and an upcoming second epidural. Neurontin, Lyrica, tramadol and vicodin....none really had much affect on the feet. Rest, stretching, and the insight from my current neurologist telling me my radiculophy is the culprit. NOT idiopathic. Simply put...my rotten old back was causing the burning, zapping etc. Thanks to a foot doctor, I now can add permanent numbness!!! However, there is somewhat of a positive side to this four year ordeal....it isn't progressive or idiopathic any longer. The pain is still real and the back is still OLD, but....I finally have an answer.
